Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher ready to make an impact at sixth form level? Do you love helping students explore the human mind and understand what drives behaviour? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and engaging teacher to join our thriving Social Sciences department on a maternity cover basis, starting September 2025.

Your Role:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Psychology lessons to A-Level students
  • Foster a love for learning and critical thinking, using real-world examples to bring theory to life.
  • Provide regular feedback, track student progress, and support them in achieving outstanding outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive sixth form culture and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high academic standards.
  • Participate in enrichment activities and support students preparing for further study in Psychology or related fields.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with a strong subject knowledge in Psychology (QTS/PGCE or equivalent required).
  • Experience teaching A-Level Psychology is preferred, but confident teachers or ECTs are welcome to apply.
  • An enthusiastic, reflective practitioner who can engage, challenge, and inspire sixth form learners.
  • A team player who values collaboration and student success.

Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision.
