Job Title:              Exams Officer 

Contract:             Permanent, Term-Time Only plus inset days (39 weeks per year) and up to 2 weeks during the exams results period in August (additional time paid on claim)

Hours:                  Full time, 37 hours per week

Salary:                  Kent Scale E – starting at FTE £27,852 per annum and PTE £24,169.11 based on working 39 weeks per year

We are looking to appoint an Exams Officer to supervise/lead our well-respected Exams department Team and deliver the successful provision for scheduled and mock exams across the whole school. 

 

Overall Responsibility: 

  • To be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the administration of all internal and external examinations within the school, including liaising with staff, pupils, invigilators and examination boards, adhering to national regulations and guidelines and an annual budget.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the area child protection procedures.

 

This key position plays a pivotal role in the success of our students’ progress and is a busy and varied role. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate prior experience in the organisation and administration of both external and internal examinations including entry, delivery and analysis of data, and management of the invigilation team.

 

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with a high attention to detail, a co-operative team player, proactive and able to plan their work effectively over the exams cycle of the year.

 

The main campus for TWGSB is in Tunbridge Wells. However, you may be required to work at other sites connected to TWGSB.

The School Context Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys, also known Boys Grammar or TWGSB was originally founded in 1956 as a technical school and later became a grammar school in 1982. It is one of the largest grammar schools in England, with over 1800 students and approximately 160 staff split across two sites.

Whilst we are Boys Grammar School, we warmly welcome female students in the Sixth Form.
