Langafel are looking for a curriculum lead to work alongside our staff to design a bespoke curriculum that captures our school values, and interests and motivates our cohort, developing in them a love of learning and equipping them with the skills to achieve to their potential.

A unique school, Langafel includes an SRP which expertly caters for those with ASC, it is a church school that looks to embed Christian values in pupils’ daily lives. The school itself benefits from fantastic grounds, including an established Forest School site, allowing learning opportunities to be taken outdoors.

As curriculum lead, you will be responsible for leading on the design, production and implementation of our new curriculum, ensuring it meets the aims of the National Curriculum in a cohesive, engaging, accessible and relevant manner. It will reflect our school and Christian values, showing clear and progressive building blocks that will structure learning from foundation stage to year 6. You will work alongside current subject leaders to ensure all subject areas are developed to a high standard.

Langafel currently has a PAN of 45 meaning the curriculum will run on a 2-year cycle to accommodate our mixed year phases.

We are offering an initial 1-year fixed term contract which will include 4 days of classroom-based teaching with 1 day dedicated to the role of curriculum lead. Although the contract is initially for 1 year there may be potential for this to be made permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will show a clear understanding of the National Curriculum and the circumstances of our school. They will be focussed and able to work to structured deadlines showing a developed understanding of curriculum and pedagogy.

Information about the school

Langafel consists of 1 reception class and children in Key Stages 1 and 2 are taught in mixed-age classes allowing the perfect opportunity for collaborative learning and teaching.

Our facilities are the envy of all other local schools and include a gym, swimming pool, performing arts room, kitchen, an extensive field and Forest School woodland area.

The school's specialist resourced provision, known in the school community as SLIC (Socialise Learn Interact Communicate) is for pupils with an EHCP who are diagnosed with autism. SLIC is made up of 4 classes, with children working across the primary age range, where appropriate pupils are supported to attend mainstream lessons. The pupils from the SRP make use of the wonderful facilities within mainstream. Additionally, within the provision the pupils benefit from four large well-resourced classrooms, speech and language rooms and a sensory room. They also have access to their own contained outside spaces, including a playground with sensory apparatus and a well-equipped enclosed area on the school field.
