We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant primary school on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. The role will be offered on a one-year fixed-term contract. While the position is initially temporary, there is the potential for the contract to become permanent, subject to school staffing requirements and successful performance during the contract period. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a supportive and nurturing learning environment.

Do you hold a degree and are you considering training to become a teacher? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Join us as an HLTA and gain valuable classroom experience, with the potential to train as a teacher while you earn.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Term time only, 31.67 hours per week, 8:30 am – 3:20 pm, Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).

  • Salary: Paid on KSD pro-rata, £26,393 FTE.

Experience: Experience across both key stages is desirable, but adaptability and strong English/Maths skills are essential to assist the teacher and support pupils in reaching their potential. Experience in supporting SEN pupils and delivering interventions is required.

Responsibilities: You will set up learning areas, lead intervention groups, support children with learning needs, and occasionally take responsibility for the whole class in the teacher's absence. The role includes 1-1 pupil supervision, and flexibility, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude are key.

Singlewell Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory written references. In accordance with KCSIE 2023, an online search of shortlisted candidates will be carried out and candidates are expected to complete a self disclosure.

Early applications are advised. We have the right to close the application early if a suitable application should be received.
