Science Teacher - Nore Academy- Full-time

Advert

Nore Academy is a brand-new SEN school on the Isle of Sheppey. Proudly opening our doors in early 2025, we support young people aged 11–16 with SEMH needs and related areas of SEN.

In our first phase, around 48 pupils will join across Key Stages 3 and 4, many returning to education after time away. Our students need ambitious, dedicated and compassionate staff who are passionate about nurturing both emotional wellbeing and creating academic opportunities.

We are excited to welcome a passionate Science specialist to join our team of dedicated teachers. Initially, teaching will focus on delivering Science across Key Stage 3 and as our school grows with pupils move into Key Stage 4, we will expand our curriculum to include BTEC Level 1 and 2 qualifications, alongside selected GCSE courses.

This role is ideal for SEN practitioners, primary teachers (with good knowledge of science at KS3/4), or secondary teachers with a strong background in delivering or leading Science.

Successful candidates will have high expectations for all pupils, a drive to raise standards, and a commitment to helping students rebuild and enrich their experiences of science, both in the classroom and through wider opportunities beyond it.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Can bring Science to life, filling every lesson with energy, creativity, and multisensory activities that make learning meaningful and fun.
  • Can deliver exciting, thought-provoking experiments, sparking curiosity, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning.
  • Can plan and lead trips that will expand our students’ horizons and enhance their cultural capital
  • Champions every student’s journey, helping them grow into the best version of themselves through unwavering support and belief
  • Is willing to make a real difference both inside and outside the classroom
  • Has the potential and ability to teach additional subjects as required.

Experience:

  • Qualified teachers or ECTs with experience in SEN, primary or secondary education be that within special or mainstream.
  • A Science specialist with the subject knowledge and classroom practice to teach across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

This is a full-time, permanent position on teachers’ pay scale open to UQT/ECT/MPS/UPS + SEN allowance.
