We are delighted to be able to offer the post of Teacher of Music.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic teacher of music to work alongside the Head of Department to contribute to the continued development of our school Music Department.

Our Music Department is busy, vibrant and well equipped, with two computer suites, a recording studio and four practice rooms. With the motto 'Make Music Make Waves', the department aims to create well-rounded musicians who are prepared for their next stages in life. At KS3, students explore a wide range of musicals styles and explore software packages such as MuseScore, Garageband and Cubase.  At KS4, students study the Eduqas specification, with great results this past summer. With the offer of A Level Music Technology at Key Stage 5, the successful candidate will have a varied and challenging role.

The Music Department puts on a number of large-scale performances each year, in addition to weekly rehearsals, small-scale trips, residentials, workshops and foreign tours. Working in collaboration with our new Head of Drama, we will be putting on   musical productions from next academic year. The Music Department also works closely with other nearby schools as part of the Kent Network, sharing best practice and putting on collaborative, inter-school events.

The School Context Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys, also known Boys Grammar or TWGSB was originally founded in 1956 as a technical school and later became a grammar school in 1982. It is one of the largest grammar schools in England, with over 1800 students and approximately 160 staff split across two sites.

Whilst we are Boys Grammar School, we warmly welcome female students in the Sixth Form.

Our philosophy at TWGSB is that education is about personal development and should give young people every opportunity to explore and learn about the world around them.

The historic and ancient town of Sevenoaks is closer to London than Tunbridge Wells. Lose yourself in wonderful Knole Park, with its wandering wild deer and historic house and end up on Sevenoaks high street in one of its lovely restaurants or cafes.
