Head Teacher (SEN School)

Salary: £61,915 - £74,095

Location: Pierview Academy, Gravesend

Contract type: Full Time

Pierview Academy is a small independent school providing continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a long-term provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We cater for up to 40 young people in their secondary and post-16 school years, from the ages of 11 to 25. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with learners so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs led approaches.

We are looking for a Head Teacher to lead our school, who has enthusiasm and passion for working with this challenging area of special educational needs. The post holder will provide professional leadership for the school, to secure its success and improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its learners and good standards of learning and achievement.

This is an ideal opportunity for somebody who is looking to make a step up to Headship or an individual who has senior experience working with SEND and challenging behaviour. We also welcome applicants who have previous Head Teacher experience.
