Stelling Minnis CE Primary School is looking for a qualified Sendco to join our lovely village Primary School. You will be working with our wonderful team to ensure that all of our delightful children flourish and thrive.

We are a small, friendly school with a supportive team and a staffroom full of laughter! A nurturing environment is important to us and we are fortunate to be surrounded by an impressive outdoor learning environment and of course you will get to know our neighbours comprising of alpacas, pigs, sheep, geese and more; meeting Peppa the Pig is a must!

We are looking for someone on a part time basis for 6 hours a week.

Despite our remote location, we are conveniently located a short distance from Folkestone, Ashford and Canterbury with ample room for staff parking.

As part of our recruitment process, visits to the school are essential and the Acting Headteacher will be pleased to show you around.

  • work within the SEND Code of Practice, particularly being robust and rigorous in relation to the Assess-Plan-Do-Review cycle.
  • demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of the statutory requirements of the SENDCo role.
  • are knowledgeable in providing appropriate intervention and strategies for pupils with SEND needs.
  • demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • are able to maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports
  • are highly resilient, adaptable, and enthusiastic, with a passion for supporting children and families.
  • possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • are able to manage time effectively and balance different priorities
  • are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • are somebody with a clear vision who can communicate this effectively to all stakeholders in collaboration with the Acting Headteacher

Information about the school

We are a small rural primary school, set between the villages of Bossingham and Stelling Minnis, six miles south of Canterbury and 12 miles from Folkestone. Our history dates back to 1784 and we are one of the oldest schools in Kent. We are a Good school (Ofsted) and were judged Outstanding as a Church School (Diocesan Inspection).
We have a strong Christian ethos throughout the school, with a team of friendly and dedicated teachers, support staff and governors. We have delightful, enthusiastic children who are eager to learn.
