Due to the ongoing successful expansion within the school, an exciting vacancy has arisen for the role of Science Teacher with the possibility of additional responsibility as Head of Science.

The successful applicant will head up a small science department and lead on the delivery of an engaging and interesting curriculum whilst improving outcomes in Science for all students. The oversight of Key Stages 2-5 is desirable but teaching experience in all of these key stages is not necessary.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher of science to lead a small department or for an existing staff member to join a small science department

Ripplevale School is a mixed Independent Special School for students aged between 6-18 who are on the Autistic Spectrum. We provide a nurturing and caring environment in which to develop our pupils’ learning and social needs. Applicants will be required to teach and motivate small class groups of students. Applicants should be committed, enthusiastic, innovative and able to continue to develop learning within our school.

Information about the school

Ripplevale School is an independent day SEN school for pupils aged from 6 to 18 years old who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) with a diagnosis of ASD, often with associated conditions.

Ripplevale School is situated over two sites. Ripplevale Lower School is situated in Broadstairs, teaching a Primary provision and Ripplevale Upper School is based in the village of Ripple near Deal, for our Secondary and Post 16 provision.

We have a committed and dedicated team which includes teachers, teaching assistants, higher level teaching assistants, a range of therapists, administrative staff and support staff. All play a significant role in the education and development of each pupil and work to create a warm, informal, friendly atmosphere in which the pupils feel secure, safe and confident.
