Are you an inspiring, creative, and passionate teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity? Leigh Academy Tree Tops is looking for a dedicated Class Teacher to join our thriving team from September 2025.

At Leigh Academy Tree Tops, we are committed to nurturing every pupil’s potential and providing the best possible educational experience. Our focus is on creating an environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. We work together to achieve excellence for all, fostering confident, resilient children who benefit from the expertise of energetic, highly motivated, and forward-thinking teachers.

We are seeking a teacher who places children at the heart of school life, with high expectations for both pupil achievement and behaviour. You will be someone who inspires and motivates pupils to reach their full potential, while fostering a love of learning in every child.

In return, you will join a dynamic and collaborative team, with ample opportunities for professional growth and development.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Qualified and Experienced: Holds QTS/PGCE and has a proven record of successful teaching in a primary setting.
  • High Expectations and Vision: Demonstrates high expectations for pupil achievement and personal growth, coupled with an enthusiastic, imaginative, and forward-thinking approach to education.
  • Inspiring Communicator: Possesses the ability to inspire, motivate, and engage children to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborative: Capable of building positive relationships with children, staff, parents, and governors, along with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

We can offer you:

  • The opportunity to be part of a well-regarded academy.
  • A welcoming, forward-thinking academy community committed to raising achievement and attainment.
  • A creative, supportive, and highly motivated environment where teamwork thrives.
  • Excellent resources, facilities, and a strong commitment to professional development.

If you are passionate about making a difference and eager to contribute to our school’s success, we look forward to receiving your application!

We strongly recommend that you come to visit our setting so that you can see in action what an inspiring and purposeful environment it is, for both pupils and adults. If you would be interested in booking a visit or a call with the academy, please contact Amy Wenban (Recruitment Advisor) on amy.wenban@latrust.org.uk.

Note: Whilst the position is offered on a maternity cover basis initially of up to one year, every effort will be made to offer a substantive position thereafter, either at Leigh Academy Tree Tops or within the wider family of academies across Leigh Academies Trust. The central Recruitment Team will keep in touch with you throughout your contract to discuss options available to you.

Information about the trust

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 20,000 students and employing 3,000 talented staff. Nearly 40% of our academies are judged outstanding overall by Ofsted, versus 15% nationally. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider. Our future plans are found in our Vision 2030 document available on our website.

As part of Leigh Academies Trust, you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers both within the academy and across the whole Trust. This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together. You are supported to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation.

In addition to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all of our children, aged from 2 months to 19 years, and their families, we are proud to provide many opportunities for lifelong learning. These are delivered through the organisations under our umbrella: Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub, LAT Apprenticeships and Kent and Medway Training (KMT), which delivers routes into teaching.

Our commitment to safeguarding: Leigh Academies Trust and all of our academies are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process across all academies and business units. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.

Our commitment to equality and diversity: As a Trust we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals, we all bring something unique to the role regardless of any protected characteristics which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. We are committed to providing equality and fairness throughout our recruitment and employment practices and not to discriminate on any grounds.
