Site Manager needed for our lovely school!

Are you a practical problem-solver with a toolbelt in one hand and a clipboard in the other? Do you have a knack for fixing things, managing people, and keeping calm when the fire alarm goes off during a downpour? If so, we’d love to hear from you!  Harrietsham Church of England Primary School could be the school for you.

We’re on the lookout for a new superhero to join our team.  We need someone who will love our school as much as we do! We are looking for a Site Manager who can keep our school safe, secure, and looking its best – all while being friendly, approachable, and ready to chat and support all members of our school community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Keeping our buildings and grounds safe, clean and well-maintained (think superhero with a mop and maintenance checklist!).

  • Being our go-to keyholder for emergencies and out-of-hours callouts (cape optional!).

  • Managing contractors, overseeing repairs, and making sure everything runs safely and like clockwork.

  • Carrying out minor repairs and odd jobs.

  • Leading our Assistant Caretaker and ensuring cover across the site.

  • Facilitating lettings and making sure our guests feel welcome.

  • Staying on top of health & safety, compliance and stock levels.

You’ll be great at this job if you:

  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills – you’ll be supporting staff, students, contractors, and the occasional confused delivery driver.

  • Are hands-on and practical, with a can-do attitude and a good sense of humour.

  • Can think on your feet, stay organised, and remain calm under pressure.

  • Don’t mind the odd early start, late finish, or mysterious noise in the boiler room.

  • Are willing to love our school as much as we do!

In return, you’ll be joining a supportive team, working in a vibrant school environment where no two days are the same.

Hours required are Monday to Friday on a split shift basis: 7am to 11.30am and 3pm to 6pm. This an all year round position.  Hours can be negotitaed for the right candidate.

Interested?

Apply now or get in touch for more information and a tour of the school.  Please ask to speak to our Business Leader, Becci Masterson, who will arrange a visit for you (01622 859261).

We can’t wait to meet our next school superhero (hi-vis provided!).

Our Vision Statement:

‘Nurtured we Flourish’

We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive school rooted in our rural community. Like the mustard seed, we grew from tiny beginnings and our branches are now spread wide – providing support and taking our values beyond the school gates. All those in our community feel safe and nurtured - able to flourish and grow academically, spiritually, emotionally and physically to achieve their full God-given potential.

Harrietsham Church of England Primary School is a friendly village school set in beautiful countryside in the heart of the community. We are expanding to 2-form entry and are nearly fully grown! We pride ourselves on the achievements of all of our pupils - we are a school where everyone works together putting children at the heart of everything we do. We welcome pupils and staff of all faiths and none and our vision and values of Love, Forgiveness and Fellowship guide our everyday actions.

Our school building (which dates from 2004 to 2021 when our new extension opened) houses classrooms, smaller learning areas, a well-stocked library and computer room, activity rooms and offices and we have extensive grounds including a nature garden and field with large scale play equipment. Outdoor learning is really important to us. We have supportive parents and an active PTFA and Governing Body. We maintain close links with the church and local community.
