Salary:     £11,428.75 per annum (£12.50 p/h)

Hours:      20.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:  Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our team at Heath Farm College.

About the role

The purpose of this job is to assist the Catering Manager to prepare and serve college meals. There is also an expectation of interaction with students to model professional relationships and promote healthy lifestyles during college break times. 

Role based at our 6th Form College in Maidstone.

  • To assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, considering any special dietary needs
  • To run the kitchen when the Catering Manager is on their non-contact day, as part of the company’s four day working week privilege
  • To assist with the clearing up and cleaning of the kitchen equipment, kitchen area and dining hall
  • To ensure food preparation both on site serving, and for other provisions, if required in an exceptional circumstance

Qualities/Qualifications:

  • Good standard of education, catering experience
  • NVQ Level 2 – Food Preparation
  • Food and Hygiene Certificate Level 2
  • Ability to promote and model the college values daily

Heath Farm College is situated in Maidstone and has capacity to support up to 58 students. The provision facilitates a professional post 16 provision for students with EHCPs who are not ready for a large FE college or large school/academy 6th Form provision.
