Are you looking for a new challenge?  Would you like to work in a vibrant and diverse setting, with a supportive and close-knit team? If yes, then we could be the school for you!

We are looking to appoint a qualified SENCo (3 days a week) to continue to drive our inclusive ethos and practice. The successful candidate will need to be knowledgeable, passionate and organised.  They will also need to have excellent interpersonal skills to enable them to build trusting relationships with pupils, families, staff and outside agency professionals   As a school, we have some unique challenges, which require staff to be both flexible and creative too!

In return, we can offer a very happy school that is recognised for preparing children for the wider world well, and one that supports pupils on a holistic level.

“Staff are empowered to provide an individualised approach to school life and are proud to be part of the community. Consequently, families justifiably feel that their children are ‘stretched and supported academically’ and that ‘pupils from Guston have integrity.’” SIAMS 2025

“Pupils enjoy their learning, which they say is fun. They relish the good-humoured relationships they make with staff and each other. While there is much laughter, pupils know that the expectations of both their behaviour and their learning are high.” OFSTED 2021

If you feel that this is a challenge that you would welcome, please make an appointment with the Headteacher.  Visits to the school are essential before applying.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS and other Safer Recruitment processes.

Information about the school

We are a semi-rural school, set in very attractive surroundings. The school is housed in modern buildings, and is very well resourced throughout. Christian values, a caring ethos and having high self-esteem and expectations are important to us. Our children are enthusiastic, positive learners, and are a joy to teach. For many of them English is an additional language. All the staff enjoy working as a close team, being completely committed to the progress and well-being of our learners, but also having lots of fun.
