Are you an experienced professional looking to develop new skills as well as contributing to the community?

We have exciting plans for the future and are looking to appoint new Trustees to our Trust Board to help shape our direction and realise our ambitions.

Ideally suited to professionals with experience of senior-level leadership and decision-making in a corporate setting, the role of Trustee is challenging but very rewarding with real scope for personal and professional development, as well as enhancing the life chances of our students.

The Trust Board, working under the overall direction of the Chair of Trustees, has ultimate legal accountability and is responsible for setting the strategic direction and decision making. The Trustees oversee the management and administration of the Trust and its schools and delegate a number of responsibilities to others, including the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Team and School Leadership Teams, to undertake the day to day management of the Trust and its schools.

Key matters reserved to the Board, include but are not limited to:

  • setting the strategic direction and educational targets
  • ensuring the vision and values of the Trust are implemented
  • approval of key policies
  • approval of the budget

The Trustees act as both charity trustees and directors of the company.

We also have three committees, Finance, Resources, Audit and Risk, Education and Safeguarding, and People.

These are voluntary posts but you will be offered full induction, the opportunity to be mentored by a more experienced Trustee and regular training. There may also be occasions when we need to draw on your expertise, or to participate in additional events and meetings. We estimate the commitment to be around 50 hours per year.

If this opportunity appeals to you then please either submit an application or contact us on 01322 250285  and select Option 1 to arrange an informal chat with our CEO, Charlie Guthrie.
