Tiger Cubs Day nursery are looking for a Nursery Practitioner Apprentice to join our busy and well resourced Term Time Only Day Nursery. The successful applicant will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to use their own initiative, willing to complete a Level Three Qualification in Early Years Childcare. This is a term time only (40 weeks per year), working 37 hours across a 4 day work week, allowing for 1 day per week for studies. We are looking for a candidate to join us ASAP.

The main duties of the role:

  • Ensuring the children are cared for in a happy, safe, and stimulating environment.
  • Working in partnership with parents and fellow colleagues.
  • Maintaining child development and observation records.
  • Following and implementing all policies and procedures set out by the nursery.
  • Ensuring the key person approach is fully instilled in everyday practice.

All applicants will need to demonstrate an understanding of childcare and early years development and learning needs. The successful applicant will need to be a positive role model to colleagues, students, and visitors to the nursery.

  • Self-motivation in both their studies and workplace.
  • Enthusiasm in learning how to create a stimulating, fun, inviting, and caring learning environment for young children.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, and committed.
  • Motivated and polite with a smart appearance.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
