Information about the school

Langafel is a friendly, supportive, nurturing and inclusive primary school. Aspiration, confidence, perseverance, respect, enjoyment, honesty, teamwork and Koinonia are our values. We currently have one Reception Class. This class has access to a large inside and outside area with a flexible open plan space. Children in Key Stages 1 and 2 are taught in mixed-age classes allowing the perfect opportunity for collaborative learning and teaching. Our facilities are the envy of all other local schools and include a gym, swimming pool, performing arts room, kitchen, an extensive field and Forest School woodland area.

The schools specialist resourced provision, known in the school community as SLIC (Socialise Learn Interact Communicate) is for pupils with an EHCP who are diagnosed with autism. SLIC is made up of 4 classes, with children working across the primary age range, where appropriate pupils are supported to attend mainstream lessons. The pupils from the SRP make use of the wonderful facilities within mainstream. Additionally, within the provision the pupils benefit from four large well-resourced classrooms, speech and language rooms and a sensory room. They also have access to their own contained outside spaces, including a playground with sensory apparatus and a well-equipped enclosed area on the school field.

Langafel believes in supporting and nurturing every child and are proud to have been awarded the National Nurturing Schools Award. We also have THRIVE trained practitioners to help support the emotional well-being of pupils within our THRIVE embracing school.

At Langafel we have 3 rules by which we expect everyone to abide: To be respectful, to be safe and be positive.
