Location: Blue Skies School, Chatham

Are you a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher looking for a rewarding role in a supportive and inclusive school?

At Blue Skies School, we provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs, specifically those on the autism spectrum. We focus on personalised learning experiences, helping every student achieve their full potential as they work towards their GCSEs. Our curriculum also places a strong emphasis on Life and Living Skills and the Preparation for Adulthood framework, ensuring students develop essential skills for independence beyond school.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Maths Teacher to join our team three days a week. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills in an inclusive setting where you can make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons tailored to students with special educational needs.
  • Deliver Life and Living Skills sessions, supporting students' personal and social development.
  • Share responsibility for a class form group, including completing registers and managing morning and end-of-day tasks.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and the senior leadership team.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and teaching assistants to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage student participation and build confidence in Maths through creative teaching methods.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Take part in school-wide events, meetings, and training as required.

About You:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level, ideally within a special educational needs setting.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and student-centred approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development.
  • The chance to make a real impact in students’ lives.

If you are passionate about making Maths accessible and enjoyable for students with special educational needs, we would love to hear from you!
