Grow 19 is a small college for learners aged 19-25 with SEND. Our learners have a range of learning difficulties, autism, speech, language and communication needs.  We offer vocational and living skills programmes, supporting learners to be ready for work, supported  employment, independent living or community involvement. Our core values (below) are at the heart of our curriculum and everything we do.

Grow 19 opened in September 2019 and continues to grow in learner numbers year on year. Staff are employed by Five Acre Wood School and seconded to Grow 19, at the college base in East Malling.  A full CPD programme is provided. We are also a full Natspec  member.  This demonstrates we really value our people and want to work with them to fulfil their career ambitions. We require a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at our small, dynamic and practical based college. Successful candidates will either be experienced and successful Teaching Assistants who enjoy team working and taking responsibility. Alternatively you may have a passion for special needs and looking for your first opportunity.  The successful candidate will also have a strong commitment to inclusive principles and be committed to safeguarding both children and young people.

You will benefit from opportunities for continuing professional and a bespoke programme will be developed with you to support you in your role.

Hours of work are a minimum of 20 up to 32.5, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm. Please be aware that the salary is advertised based on 32.5 hours, the salary would need to be pro-rata for hours less than 32.5 hours.

Grow 19 is a SEND College for learners aged 18-25 who have an Educational Health Care Plan. Our learners have a range of learning difficulties, autism, speech, language and communication needs. We offer vocational and living skills programmes, supporting learners to be ready for work, supported employment, independent living or community involvement.

We aim to give all learners opportunities to discover new ways, new skills and knowledge that engage them, develop them and will lead to them being exceptionally well prepared for their next steps and a positive, meaningful future.

At Grow 19 we are committed to empowering our learners develop the skills and confidence to become as independent as possible and achieve across all aspects of their life.

We set high expectations; learners must be willing to work hard and are encouraged to take pride in what they achieve. We have developed an exciting and inclusive curriculum to meet the diverse needs of all our learners. We have developed outstanding relationships with employers and organisations within local communities across the Maidstone and Malling area and work together to provide opportunities for learning and work experience.

College life is different from School, it is an adult environment with a positive learning culture. We offer individual coaching and mentoring to support our learners throughout their time at Grow 19 and when the time is right also support their transition into either employment, supported employment, volunteering or social care.
