We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work with a group of children in our new Reception cohort. The job is subject to successful high needs funding claims. You will work with a team of teaching assistants, supporting children to access the learning in teacher directed sessions and within their independent play. You will also need to ensure that the additional interventions detailed on their EHCPs and personalised plans are delivered effectively, supporting the teacher in tracking their progress.

We want someone who has:

  • an excellent understanding of Early Years expectations
  • a good understanding of how to support children with SEND and complex need including non-verbal communication, ASD and Downs Syndrome.
  • the ability to follow the direction of the class teacher
  • the knowledge in how to support and develop children in their play
  • the ability to support children to make progress
  • a strong desire to collaborate and work effectively as a team.
  • a strong belief that good relationships and positive behaviour management is key
