Make a Difference Where it Matters: School Site Manager

Our current Site Manager is retiring so Archbishop Courtenay Primary School is looking for a dedicated and resourceful Site Manager to join our team!

In this key role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained learning environment for our children and staff.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds.
  • Manage a team of cleaning staff
  • Responsible to security
  • Organise maintenance personnel, and contractor visits
  • Prioritize, plan, and schedule maintenance work in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and risk assessments.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repairs.
  • Manage budgets for building supplies and maintenance projects.
  • Foster positive working relationships with staff, pupils, and the wider school community.

Desired Qualities (not essential):

  • Experience in a similar role, facilities management, or the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach.
  • A passion for creating a positive environment for learning.

Archbishop Courtenay Church of England Primary School is an expanding 1.5 form entry school and a member of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk).

We work closely with our community, especially All Saints' Church, and have a PTFA which helps organise many events. PE and music specialists provide additional curriculum enrichment. All early years classrooms have their own, purpose-built outside learning environment. Our Pastoral & Wellbeing Manager offers highly effective support to our pupils and their families.

Archbishop Courtenay Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all trustees, staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
