We are looking for a passionate, talented and rigorous Food Technician to join our Food Technology department. The successful candidate will prepare and source (when applicable), food technology materials and equipment to support the teaching and learning of lessons, together with maintaining classrooms and prep rooms, their equipment and services. Experience of working as a Food Technician is not necessary, as training will be provided.

The post is 37 hours a week. Term time, plus 5 staff development days.

As a Food Technology Technician, you will:

• Order and maintain sufficient supplies of materials and equipment to enable delivery of lessons, including organising the online delivery of food supplies.

• Set up resources and prepare materials and equipment for lessons.

• Work with individual students to support their learning and engagement in lessons

• Contribute to creating a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to students learning. You will develop resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupil work.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a Level 1 or Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) with the  required proficient practical skills, including a Minimum of Level 2 in English and mathematics or the equivalent.

• Have experience of Food Handling and hygiene

• Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities and confidentiality.
