Working as part of a new central team dedicated to administering admissions for all phases across Leigh Academies Trust, we are looking for a Central Admissions Officer to join our team! You will be responsible for 2 secondary academies in our North West Kent cluster in Dartford and surrounding areas - splitting your time equally between both, with a day spent at HQ in Strood with the rest of the team. Reporting to the Central Admissions Lead (CAL), you will be part of a dynamic team that is working to streamline and shape the admissions process, creating a simple yet informative and professional journey for parents and students alike.

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • The set up and maintenance of Admissions+ in accordance with best practice, ensuring the system is ready and available for each phase as needed.

  • Ensuring admissions forms are reviewed to ensure information being captured is relevant and necessary to the student and academy, as well as being compliant with the School Admissions Code.

  • Liaise with SLT to produce a timeline of events relating to admissions throughout the year and setting them up, as needed, in Admissions+. This will include open days and Post-16 meetings.

  • Manage waiting lists for In Year Casual Admissions.

  • Set up and administer fair ability banding tests, open evenings, taster days and other events as applicable to your academies.

  • Act as the first point of contact for all admissions related enquiries in the allocated academies, referring complex requests or points of issue to the CAL.

  • Become familiar with the School Admissions Code and the School Admissions Appeals Code ensuring all stages of admissions within academies are compliant with these.

  • Become familiar with how the LA relevant to your academies handles admissions for each phase.

  • To travel to other academies providing support where needed as directed by the CAL.

The working basis of the role is 37 hours per week, term time + 2 weeks inset, actual salary £21,868 - £23,825 per annum (£24,789-£27,007 FTE)
