Singlewell Primary School is seeking to fill two positions with one enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team starting in September 2024.

  1. Breakfast Club Assistant

We are looking to appoint a Breakfast Club Assistant to provide high-quality childcare in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children from Reception to Year 6.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Term time only, 5 hours and 50 minutes per week, 7:20 am until 8:30 am Monday to Friday.
  • Salary: Paid on KR3 pro-rata.
  • Experience: Basic food hygiene certificate and first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain) are required. Experience in working with children in a similar setting is preferred.

  • Deliver high-quality childcare.
  • Create a relaxed and sociable environment.
  • Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for children.
  • Work flexibly and enthusiastically as part of a team.
  1. Admin Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Admin Assistant to work in our busy office. The ideal candidate will have a positive 'can-do' attitude, the ability to independently organise and prioritise their workload, a flexible nature, and attention to detail, along with a good sense of humour.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Term time to include inset days, 25 hours per week, 8:30 am – 1:30 pm Monday to Friday.
  • Salary: Paid on KR4 pro-rata.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school office or relevant admin experience is essential. Knowledge of SIMS/FMS is desirable, but full training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors and provide an efficient and organised frontline service.
  • Handle queries from parents, staff, pupils, and visitors both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong numeracy and multi-tasking skills under pressure.
  • Confidently use IT systems, including Excel and Word.
  • Maintain attention to detail and produce accurate work.
  • Support the Senior Admin assistant and School Business Manager.
  • Work effectively as part of a team with a positive approach to working with children.
  • Uphold confidentiality and strong work ethic.

 

To summarise, your working hours will be 7:20-1:30 during term time and 8:30-1:30 on inset days.

Singlewell school has a warm, family feel and is situated in a pleasant, leafy site on the outskirts of Gravesend. The school has been expanded to two form entry from September 2016 and had a new building constructed. We are now at full capacity with two classes in each year group from Reception through to Year 6. All classes have support assistants. We are very lucky to have modern buildings and facilities and spacious grounds.

Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
