A unique opportunity has arisen which means we are looking to appoint an amazing teacher to join our friendly, supportive and highly committed team of professionals within our popular and growing school.

In our latest Ofsted inspection, which took place in March of this year, the school achieved an overall grading of “Good” with our personal development curriculum graded as “Outstanding”, inspectors said about our school…

Pupils are truly cared for and nurtured at Hoo St Werburgh and the Marlborough”

“This school is ambitious for all pupils to do well and achieve their best. Adults set clear expectations for learning. Pupils live up to these.”

Staff have high expectations of how pupils should behave. Across the school, relationships between adults and pupils are warm and respectful.

Pupils’ personal development is exceptional. The school provides extremely strong welfare and pastoral support steered by the school’s values. The school’s extensive nurture provision effectively identifies and addresses the social and emotional needs of each child

We celebrate every aspect of our pupils’ learning from their social and emotional development and life skills acquisition to the national curriculum subjects of reading, writing, maths and more. We are also fortunate enough to have an in- school Forest School which all of our children have access to as part of our curriculum.

There are over 480 children on roll in the main school, with two classes per year group in the main school. We also have an established nursery class attached to the school which offers fantastic provision to two, three and four olds from the Hoo area. The Marlborough caters for 85 children within their specialist setting.

  • Have exceptional expectations for all pupils, both in regards to academic expectations and attitudes towards behavior for learning
  • Enjoy a collaborative approach to school improvement in a team environment.
  • Be able to share your knowledge as well as learn from others
  • Be adaptable to evidence based teaching practices which have real impact on our children

Information about the school

Hoo St Werburgh Primary School and Marlborough Centre is a large, well-resourced and busy primary school just 5 minutes from Junction 1 of the M2, and includes an integrated specialist provision (Marlborough Centre) for pupils with a primary need of Autism.

The number of pupils on roll in the main school has increased over the last FEW years and the school is oversubscribed with over 480 pupils, 65 of which are in the Marlborough Centre). This is partly to do with the good reputation that the school has created amongst parents happy with their child’s education, as well as the building of new housing in the area.
