Hornbeam Primary School is looking to appoint an experienced 1:1 teaching assistant to join our team in Septmeber 2024. This is a term time temporary contract linked to High Needs Funding, for a specific pupil. 

The hours of work are 31hrs 15mins, Monday- Friday, 08:30am – 3.30pm with a 15 minute unpaid morning break and 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Actual Salary will be on KR3 £16,665 (Full Time Equivalent £23,337).

We are looking for individuals who:-

• have experience of working with pupils with SEN needs and providing physical care
• have experience in enabling high quality inclusive provision
• are skilled in delivering a range of interventions
• can work alongside parents and professionals including STLS and the Speech and Language Therapy Service
• can provide support during unstructured play such as playtimes and lunchtimes will also be required.

You will need to have a high level of literacy and numeracy and experience of improving outcomes for pupils both academically and emotionally. We are looking for people who are determined to secure the absolute best for each pupil and will work hard to ensure every child achieves everything they are capable of.

Hornbeam Primary School is a delightful, inclusive school located on the outskirts of the seaside town of Deal. We are a one form entry school with a privately run nursery on site.

Our school motto is 'Learn to love learning to live life better'.

In July 2018 Ofsted judged the school to be good in every area. It has impressive facilities and grounds, a swimming pool, two playgrounds, a forest school area and a curriculum that fosters outdoor learning.

In April 2019 Hornbeam became a founding Academy member of the Deal Education Alliance for Learning Trust (DEALT) which is a newly formed MAT of seven local primary schools within Deal and the surrounding villages. This unique and exciting collaboration of local schools are working together to ensure the very best outcomes for all pupils and their families within our town.

Whilst your post will be at Hornbeam, your contract will be with DEALT.

In the local area there is a country park, the beach and a community that supports the school in any way it can.

We work in a very effective collaboration with other primary schools in the Deal Learning Alliance.
