The Island Learning Trust are seeking to recruit an outstanding Key Stage 2 teacher to work at Sunny Bank Primary School. We are looking for a teacher who loves teaching, children and who aims high in all endeavours, going the extra mile for every child.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established team who are energetic and passionate about their pupils' learning and wellbeing. In September 2023 we opened our brand new school buildings, which includes a well-resourced nursery and 8 class block including Year R - just what our children, families and community need and deserve! A school for the future; a beautiful building, exciting, engaging curriculum and the highest standards of teaching and learning. The future is bright at Sunny Bank and the sky is the limit!

Since joining the Island Learning Trust in 2020, Sunny Bank Primary School, has been on a rapid improvement journey and outcomes for children at the school have been good for the last two years. At the end of 2023, the KS2 Reading outcomes at the expected standard and the higher standard exceeded the National average. The % of children reaching the expected standards for RWM combined was only 3% below the National average. Attainment in writing, maths and phonics are significantly improving and closing the gap towards National expectations. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about helping children to overcome barriers so that they can achieve excellent outcomes. They will be joining a school with established routines, responsible and ambitious children, staff who have the correct balance of support and challenge and a local community of stakeholders and parents who work in partnership to secure the best outcomes for our children.

Each of our schools offer a lively, happy vibrant school community with a positive outlook and the support of a dynamic staff team with high quality CPD, coaching and mentoring. The Island Learning Trust was established on 1st November 2016. These two founding schools are both Ofsted rated good schools. The outcomes at Minster Primary are outstanding. Sunny Bank Primary School in Sittingbourne joined TILT in February 2020 under a sponsorship arrangement and significant all round improvement has been made with the support of the MAT.
