Inclusion Practitioner - SEND

We wish to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and experienced Inclusion Practitioner to join our wonderful team. We are looking for someone who has adaptability, experience in learning support and above all, someone who shares our ethos of putting the children at the centre of all we do. 

The successful applicant will be sensitive to children's varying needs and be able to work under the guidance of the teaching team, SENCo and Leadership Team. 

The successful candidate will: 

  • have a good understanding of children's needs, both pastoral and educational
  • have excellent levels of literacy and numeracy
  • have excellent communication skills
  • have the highest expectations of children’s behaviour
  • have a strong empathy with children’s diverse needs
  • have good initiative and be flexible
  • have experience of supporting children in a learning environment
  • support the social, emotional, behavioural and medical needs of pupils as necessary
  • prepare resources and undertake administrative tasks
  • work as part of the team with a sense of humour and a sense of fun

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the implementation of planned learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning or pastoral activities, providing feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to attainment and progress.
  • Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities.
  • Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils as required.

The specific responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver interventions to support pupils with SEND
  • Work with class teachers on best strategies to support pupils
  • Support children during their lunch and playtimes
  • Collate information and data to support evidence building
  • Maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment

The successful candidate will be expected to work five days a week, 8.45am to 3.30pm, with a 4.30 finish time on one day (to lead a weekly after school club). This is 30 hours per week over 38 weeks per year.
