Classroom Teaching Assistant 

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Classroom Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team.

Do you believe that every child can be successful and reach their full potential? Do you want to be a part of a caring team who are passionate about making a difference to all children?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you could be the person we are looking for to join our small, happy team at St Peter's CE Primary School.

The successful candidate would be required to support and challenge pupils during learning activities both in and out of the classroom as well as contributing to the management of pupil behaviour, establishing and maintaining relationships with individual pupils and groups.

Previous experience would be beneficial, but we are also considering candidates who are new to the role of supporting in the classroom. As a school we are committed to staff development and well placed to be able to offer ongoing support and training as you work closely with our friendly staff team, under the guidance of the school SENCO.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine, professional interest to provide quality teaching to children including those in early years and is highly motivated by the desire to support them in reaching their full potential.
  • Is flexible, resilient and can use initiative.
  • Is organised with good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to foster and maintain positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents / carers
  • Can demonstrate a flexible approach to work and an ability to embrace change.
  • Has GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Has strong ICT skills.
  • Is committed to develop to review and develop their own professional practice.
  • Is caring, kind and friendly to all.
  • Determined to make a difference.
  • Believes passionately that all children can and will succeed.

The hours can be flexible and discussed at interview but suggested hours of work are 8.25-3.10pm daily, term time only term time only with a 30 minute lunch break. Salary in accordance with Kent Range 3.
