We are looking to appoint a Lead Practitioner - English for September 2024 and warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers who are passionate about English and are dedicated to enabling students to make excellent progress.

As the Lead Practitioner for English, you will work day to day within a large English team with a wide range of experience, as well as working closely with other colleagues within the Academy and across the Trust to develop the wider foundations and applications of teaching and learning practice. Your focus will be on raising attainment in English by working with other teachers and leaders across the organisation. You will be expected to support colleagues to deliver their timetable to the very highest standards and be open-minded to step in and support when necessary. Working for Strood Academy: Since opening in 2009, our academy has transformed the educational opportunities and outcomes for girls and boys in Strood. The improvement in academic performance has been driven by a talented and committed workforce, the hard work of our students, and support from parents and our community. Our new buildings in Carnation Road were designed in partnership with Nicholas Hare and built by BAM as our main contractor at a cost of £26m. They opened in September 2012 and have outstanding learning environments and outside play areas as well as fantastic sports facilities.
