Assistant Subject Leader - Languages 

Permanent, starting September 2024 

Salary: MPS - UPS depending on experience plus TLR2a     

We are looking for an inspiring and creative individual to drive the delivery and enjoyment of languages at Tonbridge Grammar School.  

Languages enjoy a central place within our internationally minded curriculum.  All students study French and Spanish in Years 7 – 9 alongside Latin. They continue with at least one language to GCSE and as part of the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form, where the importance we place on internationalism is even more highlighted.  

Join a successful team 

Join our successful team of both native and non-native foreign language teachers and committed language learners, further bolstered by a team of learning support assistants specifically for languages. Students have a proven track record of gaining very high exam results at both GCSE and in the IB Diploma programme, with many going on to continue studying languages at university and beyond.  

You will be: 

  • able to teach Spanish to Sixth Form level and French ideally to GCSE. 
  • a good Honours graduate with a passion for learning and teaching 
  • an experienced middle leader or can demonstrate leadership potential.  
  • committed to raising standards of progress and attainment with a proven track record ensuring excellent academic outcomes.
