Crockenhill Primary School are looking for a mid-day supervisor to support our children have a happy, safe lunchtime whether in the school hall, classroom or outside on the playground.

Lunchtime supervisors, sometimes called mid-day supervisors or lunchtime assistants, look after the welfare of school pupils during lunchtimes.

You would have a range of duties and responsibilities, including:

  • effectively supervising pupils in the dining hall and other parts of the school
  • helping pupils with a variety of tasks, such as cutting up their food and changing clothes
  • cleaning up spillages 
  • helping to clear away food 
  • ensuring pupils keep out of areas that are out of bounds
  • actively supporting pupils with their play
  • tending to pupils who are sick or injured, ensuring they receive appropriate medical attention, and reporting any serious accidents
  • being aware of responsibilities under child protection/safeguarding legislation, and reporting concerns to a senior supervisor or the head teacher/Designated safeguarding lead

To work as a lunchtime supervisor, the following skills would be helpful:

  • enjoyment of working with children and the ability to control and supervise them
  • patience
  • the ability to stay calm
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to work as part of a team

Information about the school

Crockenhill Primary School is a community primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years, occupying an attractive site, at the heart of the village of Crockenhill. We are a one form entry school, with capacity for up to 210 pupils. The school is close to the town of Swanley and boasts excellent road and rail links to London and Kent. Our buildings run seamlessly from Victorian to new build and the classrooms are bright and welcoming. We have a dedicated art room, computer suite and library and several breakout spaces for small group work. The school also has a small wildlife garden and large playing field with an area dedicated to our forest school. The school is very proud of its sporting achievements and actively engages in many tournaments.
