Hours: 32.5 hours, 38 Weeks (Term Time Only)

Fixed Term for 12 – 18 months

Location: Twydall Primary School, Twydall Lane, Gillingham, ME8 6JS

Twydall Primary School are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant.  This role will enable the successful candidate to gain a Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification whilst gaining experience of working within a school.  The successful candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic and enjoy working with children.  All training will take place on and off the job and full support will be given by Twydall Primary School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards
  • Assist the implementation of individual programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress
  • Undertake specific duties identified by the class teacher
  • Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team

Requirements:

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Possess a desire to help all children achieve their best
  • Have a caring nature and a deep regard for children
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable
  • Excellent communication skills
