Blue Skies are at an exciting chapter in their development and are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Headteacher to join them in September 2024. 

The right candidate will be a leader that is passionate about inspiring our stakeholders and ensuring continued excellence throughout the school. We are looking for a strong leader, communicator and educationalist who has a proven track record of success in raising standards and can provide Blue Skies with visible leadership.

The role will provide scope for future developments of the school and curriculum to promote our aim of supporting all our young people to lead a happy and independent life. Every opportunity is a chance to learn and we are passionate about providing as many opportunities for our young people as possible to give them bright futures.

Blue Skies School is a small independent special school in Chatham, Kent for children and young adults from 11 to 25 years with Autism. The team are both committed and passionate, ensuring that all students achieve their individual and full potential. The school was judged to be ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in September 2023.

  • Be an experienced SEN practitioner with proven senior leadership and managerial experiences within a special school
  • An inspiring leader with outstanding teaching skills who has experience of successfully motivating and coaching staff to continually develop their skills
  • Someone who can challenge, influence and motivate staff, students and others to carry the school vision forward
  • A proactive and forward thinking individual who is passionate about educational developments and emerging trends.
  • Proven experience in financial management and human resources
  • A passion to enable the pupils of Blue Skies to become effective, enthusiastic and independent learners

Blue Skies is a small independent special school, based in Medway, which offers a unique service to children and young adults on the autism spectrum aged 11-25 years old. It is a caring school with a holistic approach towards education, catering for students in Medway, Kent and the surrounding areas.

We believe it is important for students to achieve their full potential both within school and in their lives outside, to ensure this we offer a rich and stimulating curriculum, individually tailored to our student’s needs, supported by strong pastoral care, social and emotional support and various therapies.
