Are you somebody who would take pride in ensuring that our school site provides a safe, clean and tidy environment for our children to learn? Do you have a good knowledge of building maintenance and repair?

We are looking to recruit a Site Caretaker to join our friendly team at All Souls' Church of England Primary School.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overview, management and development of the premises and site. They must be skilled in carrying out reactive repair and maintenance work as well as looking at and planning long term facilities management. They must have a friendly, flexible approach and attitude and be self- motivated managing their own workload. As the lead for Health & Safety they must have a good understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH Regulations, Legionella Testing, Working at Height, Asbestos and any other Health and Safety requirements set within the Trust.

They will ensure the site is well maintained, as well as representing the school in a polite manner when dealing with contractors and suppliers. The role will include the opening and closing of the site, as well as future lettings on occasions, outside of the working hours suggested below. The successful candidate will be required to act as a key holder, this includes responding to 'call outs' when the alarm sounds out of hours.

This is a vital role in our school, it is important to us that they will care for our school in a way that reflects the high standards of our school community. The successful candidate must take pride in ensuring that our school site provides the best environment for the children to learn.

Holiday entitlement must be taken in school holidays with agreement with the School Business Manager; this will include 2/3 weeks to be taken in the summer holidays.

The salary will be Aquila Pay Level D - £23,695.00, all year round (52 weeks).

Hours are: 37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Friday 8am – 4pm (1 hour unpaid lunch break each day)

Previous experience in a school would be beneficial.  Visits to the school prior to submitting an application are welcome and encouraged.
