Part Time Evening Caretaker – 20 hours per week, all year round required from mid May 2024)

Pay Scale: NJC Scale D2 (£23,114 - £25,979 pro rata)

Due to the retirement of one of our current post holders, we are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, self-motivated caretaker who will work to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. The post is part-time for 20 hours per week 4:00pm to 8:00pm Monday to Friday.

We are proud of our lovely site, and as a caretaker you will ensure our school is maintained to the highest standard both indoors and out. The role will involve undertaking general repairs (within capability, general cleaning and maintenance, including decorating, basic plumbing, drain clearance etc.) You would need to be physically fit and be able to work at heights (training will be provided if required).  You will also be required to be a first aider, for which training will also be provided.

Duties will include:

  • Taking pride in maintaining our school to a very high standard
  • Supervision of a small team of cleaners (may also include undertaking some cleaning to cover absences when required)

  • Liaising with hirers of school facilities
  • Locking and unlocking the premises as required (this will require some lone working)
  • Ensuring a safe working and learning environment and providing safe access to the school in cold weather conditions
