Are you committed to transforming the futures of children and their families through the power of education? An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint an inspirational, ambitious and dedicated Deputy Leader of Aspen 2 Specialist Resource Provision within Dover Christ Church Academy. We are looking for a passionate leader who is an outstanding, highly motivated practitioner and who will relentlessly strive to secure the highest levels of inclusive practice to enable every pupil in Aspen 2 to thrive and be successful. 

Working alongside the Executive Principal of DCCA and Aspen 2 and the Leader of Aspen 2; the SEND team at DCCA and across the wider trust, you would have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues to implement effective and innovative strategies to support our young people.

Information about Aspen 2

Aspen 2 is the Dover District Specialist Provision for students aged 11 - 18 with profound, severe and complex learning needs. All students within Aspen 2 have an Education Health Care Plan and are working at levels which are significantly below their age-related mainstream peers. Whilst Aspen 2 is designated as a Specialist Resource Provision, within the heart of Dover Christ Church Academy, it functions as a special school with students spending most of their time studying highly differentiated curriculums within their Aspen 2 classes.

The ideal candidate will…

  • be dedicated to securing exceptional provision for pupils with SEND, sharing best practice with colleagues
  • have an excellent understanding of how to deliver high effective provision for pupils with SEND
  • employ excellent interpersonal skills, supporting colleagues, parents and pupils to make a great team and improve provision
  • have a specialist qualification in SEND, or be willing to work towards such an accreditation
  • have the drive to make a real difference to the lives of pupils in an area of coastal disadvantage and fully embrace the diverse community
  • be a real team player
  • be able to challenge and motivate others to achieve outstanding practice 

The post will include a teaching responsibility.
