We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, well organised Teaching Assistant to join our successful village school.

Our friendly and inclusive school needs someone who is kind, calm, helpful, adaptable, patient and who is keen to support our children.

Candidates for this position should have a good standard in spoken and written English language, with academic qualifications in literacy and numeracy to at least GCSE grades A – C.   An appropriate Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous however, this is not essential.

This is a permanent term time on post, which is 38 school weeks plus an additional 5 inset days, the hours are from 08.30am until 3.30pm each day which equates to 32.5 hours per week, with a half an hour unpaid lunch break.

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to follow a teacher’s plans, to allow pupils to complete tasks and raise their attainment.
  • Able to feedback to the class teacher, the pupil’s achievements and challenges
  • Able and confident to complete informal assessments and observations during lessons and group activities.
  • Able to engage, motivate and support pupils, ensuring consistently high expectations.
  • Able to demonstrate positive behaviour management strategies.

Information about the school

Littlebourne is a small village school situated about 4 miles east of Canterbury on the A257. The school is attractively situated in large grounds opposite the village church providing a wealth of opportunities for incorporating the environment into learning, sport and other outdoor activities.
