Information about the school

Hildenborough Church of England Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive school in the heart of Hildenborough village. It was founded in 1847 and has evolved into the wonderful school it is today. We are committed to enabling all of our children to flourish and we consider wellbeing to be central to positive learning outcomes and a healthy and happy primary experience.

We are extremely proud of our school. The team of dedicated teachers, support staff and Governors are all committed to providing the children at Hildenborough with the very best education both inside and outside of the classroom. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities. There is a dedicated library, a spacious school hall with a stage & lighting used for school productions and performances, an ICT suite as well as a class set of iPads, a community room fully equipped with cooking facilities and the ‘Green Room’ which is where our SEND team are based. It is here that they welcome and support our children and families. The children see the Green room as a safe and nurturing space where they can go through the day, or at lunch and break times if they need a quiet, calm space.

The grounds surrounding the school offer the pupils plenty of outdoor space to play and learn. In addition to the playground and field areas there is an outdoor gazebo, wildlife pond and a forest school area. Every week the children in all year groups experience forest school sessions which not only develops their understanding of the world but also supports the development of their sense of wellbeing and engagement in their learning. We have recently introduced OPAL which has enabled our children to play creatively in their free time. We have introduced a range of zones including a sand pit, mud kitchen, water play zone, dens, tyre tower with slide, a boat, rope swings for climbing and hanging and much more!

Our school has a Christian Vision: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” (Philippians 4:13) so that I can be the best that I can be, for myself, for others and for God". Although a Church of England School, we invite families from all faiths and those with none to join our school community. Our spiritual values of love, compassion, courage, endurance, hope & honesty are things that we can all identify with regardless of our faith or backgrounds. Our values help us live our vision which underpins all that we do. We pride ourselves on offering a learning environment where children grow and develop in safe and supportive surroundings, leading them to be not only happy, independent, lifelong learners, but ones who are able to fulfil their own personal potential.
