Job Description

At Seabrook School, we are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, self-motivated caretaker who will work to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. The post is part-time for 10 hours per week, with the schedule and days worked to be agreed.

As a caretaker you will ensure our school site is maintained to the highest standard both indoors and out. The role will involve undertaking general repairs (within capability, general cleaning and maintenance, including decorating, basic plumbing, drain clearance and basic carpentry. You would need to be physically fit and be able to work at heights.

Duties will include:

  • Taking pride in maintaining our school site both internally and externally to a very high standard
  • Undertaking health & safety inspections and keeping accurate health & safety records
  • Arranging for annual inspections to be undertaken e.g. gas, water hygiene asbestos
  • General property and site maintenance including redecoration.

Information about the school

Seabrook Church of England Primary School is situated in a coastal setting in Seabrook, Hythe and is adjacent to the Royal Military canal. Seabrook is an outstanding half form entry school and enjoys excellent links with the local church, St Martin's, and the surrounding community. There are approximately 104 children on role. The school has 4 mixed age classes, each with an average size of 30 children (15 in the reception class). Seabrook CEP School works closely with it's sister school St Martin's CEP School which it federated with in 2017. The schools share an Executive Headteacher and a leadership team that work across both sites. There are excellent working relationships across the federation which enable staff, children and families to work in partnership to support the education of the children.
