Hugh Christie School - Finance Officer 

We are seeking to appoint a skilled Financial Officer to join Hugh Christie.

The Finance Officer will be supporting the Finance Manager in providing an effective financial and administrative service to support and enhance the running of the school in accordance with Financial Regulations. 

This is a 37 hours per week term time only position and the Finance Officer is required to work 4 extra weeks during the school holidays.

The successful candidate should possess 

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), Grade C or above.
  • They must be flexible in their approach to work, self-motivated and be able to prioritise their work effectively in order to meet deadlines. 
  • They will also need to possess good interpersonal qualities, strong communication skills and be computer literate.  
  • Previous knowledge and experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous, although not essential, as training will be provided.   

The successful applicant will provide support in a variety of finance tasks including;

  • Processing orders and invoices.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in operational areas of budget planning and setting.
  • Raise invoices for goods and services.
  • Reconcile and post all direct debit payments to the bank account.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with processing variations to payroll.

As Hugh Christie School will become part of Leigh Academies Trust in April 2024, there will be a need for the Finance Officer to work at other Schools within the Trust alongside Hugh Christie School. 

Salary: KR 7 £25,378.00 - £28,466.00
