Turner Trust is looking to recruit an exceptional Director of Science based at Folkestone Academy. Working with the Cross Trust science Director and the schools leadership team to implement the Trust vision for Science. We welcome applications from expert practitioners who are committed to our vision to create a school where all children thrive and knowledge matters.

This new role will support the growth of the School’s Science department, so we particularly welcome applications from candidates with a record of improving outcomes for pupils in Science and especially disadvantaged pupils. 

The Director of Science will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning within the Science department. All students have a chromebook and digital competency of students and staff is a priority across the next three years as we look at ways to improve engagement with the use of ICT in lessons. We believe in the power of a knowledge-rich curriculum, and are unashamedly ambitious for what every child in our care can achieve. This role provides an exciting opportunity to help shape our curriculum and provision throughout our new school, using instructional coaching and live modelling to ensure teachers deliver the very best lessons to our students.
