Teaching Assistants (TAs) will be expected to work effectively and within safeguarding guidelines under the direction and supervision of a class teacher.  They will work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils, promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

SEN TAs will give support to individual pupils, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement. This will involve developing a strong relationship with the pupil and utilising your communication skills and creativity to develop a varied approach to help them understand the information presented and support them in all aspects of their education. The role requires a commitment to inspire children to enjoy learning, to encourage them to take pride in their achievements and be confident in their abilities to actively participate in school life.

TA’s would also be expected to work as part of the school team and contribute to plans to ensure the school meets its aims.  The post holder must work within the relevant policies, codes of practice and legislation reporting any concerns to the relevant person.  The post holder must have good communications skills to be able to inform, persuade, inspire and motivate pupils and provide feedback to the teacher and other professionals as required.

Information about the school Hever is a one-form entry, Voluntary Aided church school situated in a beautiful village on the borders of Kent, Surrey and Sussex and two miles from the market town of Edenbridge. The school covers a wide catchment area of both rural and town environments.

The children benefit from beautiful grounds in a lovely setting, with a large sports field and forest school.
