Orchard Academy Trust are recruiting for a Finance, Operations and Estates Manager to work in close partnership with the Executive Head, Chief Finance Officer and Headteachers within our trust.

This is a full-time role for 37 hours per week, up to 52 weeks per year.  We welcome discussion about flexible working arrangements for a strong candidate. The pay range is between £28,598 to £43,011 depending on experience. The job is based at both Allington Primary School and Barming Pre-School & Primary School in Maidstone, and you will be required to split your working week between the two sites. There is the opportunity for some home working when appropriate.

The Trust Finance, Operations and Estates Manager is part of the Trust Business Administration team, assisting the Chief Finance Officer to ensure the Trust complies with the appropriate legislation and reporting requirements.

Experience of working within an education operations and /or finance environment would be beneficial, as will experience within another financial or business environment.

A rewarding role, the main areas of focus will include:

  • Being responsible for the development, management, operation and delivery of support services across the Trust.
  • Leading and managing the Administration, Finance and Premises Teams and all contractors across the school sites.
  • Managing all school lettings across the school sites.
  • Developing and managing the estates strategy/budget, monitoring expenditure and obtain best value from providers developing annual business plans and budgetary submissions.
  • Project management.
  • Managing the day-to-day financial management and compliance across the trust.
  • Leading on the development of school policies and supporting procedures and practices setting up a framework to ensure the smooth operation and timely delivery of all school support functions, in consultation with the operational needs of the school.
  • Being a member of the Trust Senior Leadership Team
