Responsible to: Headteacher

Location: St Augustine of Canterbury CP School

Grade:  C1 (Point 6-19)

Salary: £22893 - £29777 – pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent/Term Time Only

Contract Term: Part Time

Hours: 8.15/8.30 – 4pm – 39 weeks per year (38 weeks + 5 inset days)

Start Date: March 2024

 

We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and committed PA to the Headteacher and Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly and welcoming school. Someone who is organised, a great team member and is ready for a new challenge every day. To provide effective and efficient daily administrative support for the smooth running of the school.

Responsible for sharing information and for dedicating themselves to provide an efficient, confidential, co-operative and friendly service.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Management of information received in the Office.
  • Maintaining the Single Central Register.
  • Processing and checking DBS.
  • Welcoming and escorting visitors to their destination.
  • Ensuring that telephone calls are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To deal with parents, pupils and visitors in person, phone, email and manage written correspondence as directed by the Headteacher and to treat all matters with confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Preparing and posting daily attendance lists for breakfast club, after school club, extra-curricular clubs, activities and trips.
  • Administering medicines/inhalers to children.
  • Daily maintenance of class registers. Attendance monitoring, reporting and referrals.
  • Control of the School’s SIMS database and entering pupil information. Completing and submitting accurate School Census data.
  • Processing school admissions, reception intake, casual admissions and leavers.
  • Administration of ParentMail; Newsletters, trips, payments, parent evening, registers, messages.
  • Responding to ad hoc requests from staff for reports and assistance.
  • Assisting with administration for recruitment of staff.
  • Be aware of and comply with the School’s policies and procedures, in particular those relating to child protection and the safeguarding of children, equal opportunities, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection and report any concerns to an appropriate person.
