Full-time Teacher of English – September 2024

We are delighted to have the opportunity to take on a new English Teacher who loves reading, communicating, story-telling and writing, who believes that every student should be given the best chance to succeed.

Our Department is going through an exciting time with the development of a new knowledge-rich curriculum. We are looking for a teacher who will bring their own dynamism, experience and a positive attitude to become a trusted and valued team member.

The successful candidate will have high expectations of their students, strong subject knowledge, resilience, compassion and a keen desire to learn and grow. 

Working in a custom-built modern facility with spacious classrooms and a dedicated office for the English team, we strive to give our students the cultural literacy, deep thinking, communication and grammar skills they need to be able to tackle their exams and the world after school.

Hugh Christie School will shortly become part of the Leigh Academy Trust and we look forward to exciting times ahead with wonderful opportunities it will bring for our staff and students. Following the academisation, the School will be known as Leigh Academy Hugh Christie. Hugh Christie is a welcoming community with a friendly atmosphere. This position would suit an Early Career Teacher, a teacher looking for their first move or an experienced teacher in search of a collaborative and innovative department.
