Ifield School have an exciting opportunity to appoint a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and professional Therapy Team, working with pupils aged 4-19 who have profound, severe and complex needs. Ifield School is an outstanding school with a commitment to support individuals to develop their sensory and motor skills and also provides ongoing training support for staff. The successful candidate must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

The Therapy Team is an integral part of our school and provides the following services:

  • Implementation of Occupational Therapy Provision with pupils from reception year to students at our Sixth Form (based at The LINK Centre within North Kent College, Gravesend Campus).
  • Resources to support our pupils’ sensory regulation needs.
  • Delivery of therapy groups eg: fun with food, zones of regulation and fine motor skills.
  • Training to staff and families.

The succesful candidate will be responsible for such duties as: assessing, diagnosing and supporting pupils, sourcing equipment, liaising with parents/carers and multi disciplinary teams, producing reports/plans and attending meetings.

This post is full time, term time only, and the working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm. Salary is equivalent to NHS Agenda for change Band 5/6 (pro rata), depending on experience.
