Teacher of French and Spanish

We are seeking an experienced and exceptional Languages practitioner/subject mentor  who has a positive proven track record of impact on Teaching and Learning outcomes, through outstanding teaching and mentoring to support the Wells Language Hub Lead.  This is a temporary contract initially as part of the Language Hub. 

Specific Duties:

  • Teach French and Spanish from KS3 to KS5 to mixed ability classes in various contexts. Ability to teach 2 languages confidently up to KS4 highly desirable. 
  • Commit in providing language learning for ALL students.
  • Model and develop strategies, routines, resources that all Language staff may use as part of a consistent approach to meet the Languages Department needs.
  • Apply and share their skills into everyday practices to help raising standards within our Academy and amongst our Language Hub Partner Schools.
  • Observe, analyse, and focus on specific Teaching and Learning aspects, to then confidently and expertly provide support and guidance for staff, when identifying appropriate next steps.
  • Coach and develop Languages teaching staff.
  • Plan, develop and evaluate relevant and appropriate curriculum maps and sequenced programmes of study.
  • Use Assessment, Tracking, and Target Setting Tools to accurately monitor progress in small steps and inform Teaching and Learning strategies accordingly.

The Trust comprises of Skinners’ Kent Academy and Skinners’ Kent Primary School.

The Academy opened on September 1st 2009. It is an independent, non fee-paying, mixed, all ability school, funded by the DfE and supported fully by its lead sponsor The Skinners’ School, a grammar school for boys and the Skinners’ Company. The Skinners’ Kent Academy Trust is founded on the principles of a culture of high standards and high aspirations, a culture of active participation, an emotionally rich learning environment and an inclusive environment where every child is known and every learner supported.
