New Line Learning Academy are seeking to appoint a Second-in-Charge of Science who is an inspirational teacher and leader. The successful applicant will assist in the leadership and management of the entire department that currently comprises, 4 teachers, a teaching assistant and two full time technicians.
 
We are offering a £3,000 Golden Hello for this role, which will be paid as a one-off lump sum to the successful candidate upon employment commencing with Future Schools Trust. 
 
Our Science department is a vibrant, forward thinking team who work hard and collaboratively for the needs of all our students.  We have recently refurbished two of our three laboratories and have three other teaching spaces to work from.  All Year 7 students at New Line Learning Academy have their own laptops; the successful applicant will work to further develop the use of these into the science curriculum using their innovative ideas. 
 
At Key Stage 4 students study AQA Combined Science: Trilogy.  Our Grammar stream study Triple Science.  Students have 4 lessons of science a week in Years 7 and 8, increasing to 6 as they begin their KS4 studies from Year 9.
 
The successful applicant will have strong subject knowledge and skills.  You will have a flexible and enthusiastic attitude, the ability to motivate colleagues and communicate effectively at all levels, and a sense of humour!  You will be excited about the prospect of driving the science department to be the best it can be.
