Young Risers is a charity run pre-school based in Istead Rise and is very much a big part of the local community. We are a small friendly team that is working towards the Hygge approach which puts wellbeing, being with nature and living in the moment at the forefront of the daily routine.

We are looking for an Early Years Educator, with a NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare.

Required qualifications/skills

  • NVQ Level 3 child workforce or equivalant (must be valid)
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and how to implement it daily.

Desired Qualifications/skills - but not necessary

  • First Aid Training
  • Safeguarding Training
  • Prevent Duty
  • FGM Training
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Knowledge of Tapestry

This is a part-time position, Term Time only and pay and is pro-rata each month.

Days and hours flexible.

Candidates should:

  • Have a passion for working with Early Years Children
  • Understand the importance of children's curiosity, exploration, imagination & thinking
  • Provide a safe, welcoming and respectful environment
  • Enthuse and encourage children to become confident and independent learners
  • Have a love for outdoors & be a 'Weather Warrior'!
  • Build a solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Work well using their own initiative, in a busy and rapidly changing environment
  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills

Information about the school

We are a charity run Pre-School based in the community of Istead Rise, providing enriched learning for 2-4 year olds though the Hygge approach, with a home from home feel, learning through nature and play. We are term time only Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm. We are a small friendly team who want to the give the children the best learning environment. We are a Setting that ensures our teaching and learning through play provide children with life skills and independence and they can take as long as they need to master these skills. We are very keen on outdoor learning and its advantages to childrens learning and well-being and so have made Forest School a big part of our practice.
