School Caretaker needed! This is an exciting opportunity to join our Premises Team across our federated schools. We need someone who will take pride in ensuring that our school site provides the best environment for children to learn.

We are seeking a Caretaker [KR4] who would work at Lydden Primary school primarily, under the guidance of the site manager and business manager who work across the federation.

As a caretaker, you would be responsible for: security, caretaking, liaising with contractors and general grounds and building maintenance..

All candidates need to be prepared to be flexible in terms of the range of jobs undertaken. Having some background in trades e.g. plumbing, carpentry, building would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be a good team member but also have the ability to use their initiative. Interpersonal skills are important, being able to communicate effectively with all site users as the role demands. The ability to use technology for communication, record keeping and to aid organisation is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to act as key holder, which also includes responding to occasional call outs when the alarm sounds out of hours. Therefore, this may suit someone locally.

The current postholder works 7:00-9:00am daily with additional hours in the school holiday period. There can be some flexibility with regard to the hours stated, including the option to work 4pm-6pm daily. Holiday is given.

If interested and for the right candidate, additional hours for cleaning could be available.

Lydden Primary School is a small rural village school catering for approximately 80 children between the ages of 4-11. Children learn in our four classes.
